SEMBATTI   IS LOCATED AT THE CROSSROADS BETWEEN THE ROAD FROM

MADURAI TO PALANI / COIMBATORE
 
AND THE ROAD FROM

 DINDIGUL TO VATHALAGUNDU / KODAIKANAL

All drivers should easily be able to locate the crossroads.

Distance Sembatti to Cardamom House  ~  9 Km :   Driving Time  30 minutes

After about 1 km there is a signpost (in Tamil) indicating the direction to the village of Athoor to the left. You will also see the first of our own signposts showing the route to “CARDAMOM HOUSE”.   Here TURN LEFT

Over the next Km 1.5 you will pass many fields and then will arrive at the village of ATHOOR.  As you enter the village you will go over a couple of speed-breakers set some 50 meters apart and shortly after on your right you will see the Athoor Village Square. Here TURN RIGHT and enter the square.

Continue straight through the square to the left side of a small Temple. As you pass on the left side of this  Temple you will encounter a small double bend, first to the right and then to the left. As you come out of the second bend you will see a shop called “Golden Tailors” on your right side.   Keep going and continue past another small colorful temple with a painting of Ganesh on the right.  About 200 metres further on you will see set back on the right hand side the large Catholic Church. About 50 metres further on there is a T-Junction. Here TURN RIGHT.

 You are now off the beaten track and about 7 km from your destination. In sequence you will first cross over a small bridge and, immediately afterwards the road bears right up a small hill.  At the top you will see another of our signposts indicating you should TURN LEFT. After this turn, go straight on until you see another signpost on the Left side indicating the directions to “SADYANI KOIL” ,  “CARDAMOM HOUSE”  and “DOUBLE DUTCH RESORT”.  Go STRAIGHT ON and be sure you do not follow the road which veers to the right and will take you totally in the wrong direction.

After another 10 minutes or so driving you will see first a small Temple  (Sadyani Temple) under a Tree and on the Left side, just past the Temple, another signpost  “CARDAMOM HOUSE”  AND “DOUBLE DUTCH RESORT”. Continue STRAIGHT ON. On the left there is a property named “LAKESIDE HOUSE”.  Do not go down that road for it leads to a private house.  Continue passing first – “CANDLE HOUSE”  ON YOUR RIGHT then “DOUBLE DUTCH RESORT” on your left then   “KANNAVADI HOUSE” – to your right and  finally you will arrive at “CARDAMOM HOUSE”!  Well done, you are here!

The driver may get a bit upset towards the end of the track because it is a bit bumpy!  Reassure him it is quite passable for Taxis and Lorries , Motorcycles and Bicycles,  Ox-carts and Tractors, come and go every day !
